Siah S has now contracted with Wordical for the theme song, “Try’na Make a Change” to be used for the web series webisode, “Try’na Make a Change” – due for public release in April 2010!
Wordical Productions’ director, Kathy Sharpe and choreographer, JaQueline Osborne both were invited to view the famed performance known as “Shen Yun” at the Civic Center in San Diego. Article written as follows from Epoch Times:
SAN DIEGO—Shen Yun Performing Arts completed its first of seven shows Saturday evening, Dec. 26, at the San Diego Civic Theatre. San Diego is the first city in California to receive Shen Yun on its 2010 tour.
Ms. Sharpe, a director of stage production, Wordical Productions, watched the show with Ms. Osborne, a choreographer. They both thoroughly enjoyed the show.
“This is incredible! This is absolutely incredible!” Ms. Sharpe said enthusiastically. “I like the choreography. The story-telling with the choreography is awesome, it’s just awesome,” she exclaimed.
Ms. Sharpe added that Shen Yun’s costumes are fantastic and that the colors along with the dances were coordinated well. She feels that if her students watched the show it would broaden their perspective of dance.
Ms. Osborne had similar feelings after watching Shen Yun. She saw in the show dance movements that she would like to teach her students. She also noticed the great degree of difficulty of the dance movements, stating, “That’s really hard to do, that’s a really hard move to make. The dancing, the turning, [and] the spinning consistently across the stage is unreal. It’s amazing.”

We are currently in the writing stages of the urban play, “Craving Innocence”. The play itself will involve some very intense dancing and will showcase local San Diego vocal talent. Like most of Wordical’s urban stage performances, the play will contain much comedy mixed with intense drama and a touch of music set with urban flair and modern performance. In the writing, we are hoping to go beyond 25 member cast so as to involve many more youth. As the skeleton writing nears it’s completion, we at Wordical will begin the casting process and will have those castmember teens begin to put their input into the production – setting us up for another “Standing Ovation Performance”. Be looking for our audition call toward the end of summer!

A team of Wordical actors/actresses made their mark at the annual San Diego Winning Women Conference on this past Saturday, May 8th, 2009! National Youth Theatre holds regional awards ceremonies to honor and raise the visibility of youth theatre, with awards selected by a team of judges and reviewers from across the country. Because of his tremendous acting skills, Adam Graham of Wordical Productions’ “Fate’s Child” received a national award for “Outstanding Lead Actor in Comedy/Drama” for his role as King Xerxes in the production, “Fate’s Child”. The role called for tremendous serious dramatic acting as well as perfectly timed comedy. Adam Graham, at 15, was the youngest to have ever been casted for any of Wordical Production’s performances yet he turned out to be one of the most powerful actors to be seen on-stage. He has pursued his acting/singing career, landing another incredible lead role through California Young Actors Conservatory Theatre as TiMoune’s father in the musical “Once on this Island” and then mesmorizing the audience in his lead role as Devin in Wordical Production’s, “What You Don’t See”. Adam is now continuing his acting in front of the camera for Wordical Production’s You Tube series, “Makin’ a Change”. Congratulations Adam! You are incredible!
